The bakery is not far. Pastry, pastry, pastry, you can’t forget pastry!
I am almost never disappointed when I randomly pull a picture book by a Swedish author off the shelf. Case in point: “Molly Goes Shopping,” in which a young, smart, over-confident pig attempts her first solo voyage to the store to buy beans for her grandmother (whom I’m pretty sure is a polar bear.) Molly forgets what to buy, lies to her grandmother, loses her coin purse, and can’t tell the difference between Danish pastries and cream puffs, but all ends up fine. Cheers to Eriksson for not only showing that great accomplishments and mistakes sometimes happen together, but capturing the spot-on mood swings of the toddler set. (Always entertaining after the fact.)
